eBook's have you read one yet?

eBook's are undeniably taking off in popularity.

While I don't personally believe they will completely replace the paperback I do think they definitely have a big place in the industry.
Me-I'm in love with them both.
I enjoy the convenience of the ebook, I like that there are books I can read this way that I might not have been able to afford  and books that I won't have to make space for on my overcrowded bookshelves!
I can even switch between books if I get bored with a couple of clicks; but I will never stop loving the whole experience of the paperback, something I have passionately enjoyed from as far back as I can remember. For me a paperback is more than just the words in print, it is the texture of it in your hands, the smell of a newly printed book, the holding it tight with a sigh after finishing that last page of a story that completely captivated you. Feeling a tug of heartstrings when I see it on my bookshelf-wondering if it's time to read it again?

With so many of us on the go, commuting to work and spending a lot of time on the home computer they have become a very handy way of reading.

I myself have now read 4 ebook's and to my surprise found it easy and enjoyable. I don't have an ereader device either, I read mine on my home laptop, so no extra expense was needed there.
For those that travel alot and spend lengths of time on trains or buses or when you go away on holiday they are fantastic. They are also good for being able to read a great many books at a more reasonable price, making them actually more accessible to a much wider audience.

I know I myself would be more likely to give a book 'a go' that I wasn't too sure about or was from a genre I wouldn't normally read when it is at an e book price.
I read an ebook recently, loved it so much I bought the paperback version. And it was a book I might not have otherwise read.

I was so thrilled myself to see my own published book released as an ebook this month! I really felt excitement because to me as an author the greatest joy is in knowing my book is more readily available to more readers and every time someone reads my book, whether it be the paper version of the electronic one they are reading my writing. Words that came from my heart and mind.

  1. Hi Rebecca,
Loved your blog on the debate ... print vs eBook. Love reading through your glorious Print book but I know there's a growing number who prefer eBooks. Congratulations on your latest eBook venture :))
